Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, known for its progressive community, vibrant music scene and amazing open space, Jason Ferrera writes songs that explore the complexity of connection. Whether singing about the relationship between love and fear, kinship to the natural world or building community, his songs reflect a passion for an understanding of the human experience. Jason grew up listening to his parent's record collection which included Joan Baez, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, CSN&Y, Jefferson Airplane, Traffic and The Beatles. Current musical influences include Eddie Vedder, Michael Franti, Roberto y Gabriela and Elliott Smith. Jason has performed with many local musicians and bands including Gypsy Rags, Kindred, Play Ground, Jimmy, Bohemian Highway, Roadside Daisies and students from the Ali Akbar College of Music. A multi-instrumentalist, Jason now focuses on his upcoming instrumental album, "It's All Been Said Before".
